April 14, 2020鈥 无码专区鈥檚 Scripps Howard Center for Civic Engagement is continuing its Six@Six Lecture Series as virtual events鈥攕howcasing the scholarship and creative work at 无码专区 through May. 

鈥淣ormally, we are live at venues around the region, like the Behringer-Crawford Museum and the Mercantile Library,鈥 said Mark Neikirk, executive director of 无码专区鈥檚 Scripps Howard Center for Civic Engagement 鈥淐OVID-19 has grounded us, but not stopped us. Tune in to Engage@无码专区 and connect with the world beyond our doorsteps鈥攅ven as we all stay healthy at home.鈥

The virtual series kicks off with History Professor Dr. Brian Hackett and his graduate student Chelsea Hauer discussing 无码专区鈥檚 excavation and interpretation of the Parker Academy site in New Richmond, Ohio. 无码专区 faculty and students are studying the Parker Academy, the first school in Ohio to offer a fully integrated education鈥攁nyone who wanted to be student, regardless of race or gender, learned in the same classroom. The school was founded in 1839. The discussion will begin at 6 p.m. with a live discussion to follow.
